We welcome todayās announcement by the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, that a new National Wealth Fund will be established to drive economic growth and unlock investment in the UK. Key institutions, including the British Business Bank and the UK Infrastructure Bank, will become aligned under the new National Wealth Fund to invest in the new industries of the future, supporting the governmentās new Industrial Strategy. This announcement is a strong endorsement of the British Business Bankās 10-year track record, broad skills and capabilities including our position as the UKās largest domestic investor in venture and venture growth capital and the most active late-stage investor in UK life sciences and deeptech. We expect the National Wealth Fund to create a single coherent governmental offer for businesses and a compelling proposition for investors that will help mobilise billions more in private investment in line with a lot of our recent work, enabling us to catalyse external institutional capital, including pension fund investment, into UK high potential companies, by leveraging the British Business Bankās scale, networks, and track record. Securitisation and commercially priced guarantees are effective ways of leveraging external capital to support governmentsā policies, without cos to the taxpayer. It would be great if the sorts of changes we see below could spur further expansion of our Structured Guarantees to support the new administrationās missions. Additional risk appetite, scope (e.g. sustainability linked securitisations outside the SME space), and delegations to the institutions employing the specialisms required to execute such transactions would all be on my wish list.

Dallas-Fort Worth, TX: ACCESS GRANTED, the ultimate Wealth Building Conference, is coming to the 6th richest city in the nation on Saturday, April 13th at the Rayleigh Underground!āOur national debt is growing faster than our economy,ā explains Jerome Powell, Chair of the Federal Reserve of the United States. āWe're on an unsustainable fiscal path, essentially borrowing money from future generations. Unless we take immediate and definitive action, the current trajectory could have dire consequences for the American people, especially for small business owners who are the lifeblood of this economy.āThat's why Dunmore Capital Ventures, a capital advisory firm committed to connecting founders with funders, is joining forces with LNH Capital, a private real estate financing firm. Together, we aim to provide undercapitalized small business owners, entrepreneurs, and real estate professionals with the necessary tools and knowledge to leverage two of the most effective wealth-building strategies in the countryāreal estate and business ownership. At Access Granted, not only will attendees enjoy direct access to high-net-worth investors, but theyāll also have an opportunity to utilize the social and intellectual capital of those investors to maximize cash flow and profitability in their businesses, minimize taxes and liabilities, safeguard their assets, and grow generational wealth just like the 1%!āThe wealthiest 1% in this country knows something that the other 99% does not,ā explains Angel Investor, International Speaker, and Founder of Dunmore Capital Ventures, Seneca Dunmore. āNot knowing that information is costing them money they donāt have, and time they canāt afford to lose.āOur goal is to position attendees for greater economic mobility, thereby offering them a significant return on their most precious commodities: time, money, and peace-of-mind.When: Saturday, April 13th, 2024Where: The Rayleigh Underground (316 W Las Colinas Blvd. Suite 100, Irving, TX 75039)Time: 7AM - 4PM CSTFOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PLEASE VISIT: https://buff.ly/49rU3mh

On September 28, 1984, Thornburg launched its first-ever investment strategy: the Limited Term Municipal Fund. The journey began in 1982 with a joint venture between Garret Thornburg and Reich & Tang, creating the Daily Tax Free Income Fundāa high-yielding tax-exempt money market fund. Fun fact: it led the nation in yields for five years, despite having some of the highest fees!Brian McMahon, now our Chief Investment Strategist, led the fundās first purchase from Norwest Bank, closing the deal the day after Thanksgiving 1982ājust hours after the bank was nearly destroyed by fire. By 1984, Brian had moved to Santa Fe to join Garrett and our first employee, Dawn Fischer. Together, they filed a prospectus for the Tax Free Municipal Lease Fund and launched Thornburg Securities Corporation to distribute the fund. After raising $6.7 million, the fund officially launched on September 28, 1984. But soon, the team realized the name and strategy were confusing. Renaming it the **Limited Term Municipal Fund** and adopting a laddered bond strategy, thanks to Brianās insight, made all the difference.40 years later, the fund still stays true to its mission: maximizing tax-exempt income while minimizing share value changes through a portfolio of short-term, investment-grade municipal bonds.Thank you to our loyal investors for making this 40-year journey possible!
